Weeks used to fly by. Now, the days crawl by. I’m supposed to be enjoying this summer break and praying it will last forever. But nothing seems quite the same without you by my side.
I want to be the one accompanying you for meals, exploring little cafes and restaurants, making you laugh… Instead, I have to contend myself with texts and short video calls. It’s better than nothing of course, and I’m grateful for the technology that has somewhat compressed this distance. But nothing can beat the warmth of a hug, the thrill of a touch, the security of two hands clasped around each other.
Indeed, it’s the nights that are the hardest to get by.
